Prostate Cancer Detection Revolutionised Under New Partnership

November 21, 2017

Envision Medical Imaging and Maxwell MRI have signed a collaborative agreement to help change the way prostate cancer is detected and treated around the world.

Brisbane-based Maxwell MRI is a cutting-edge company that utilises artificial intelligence and deep machine learning technologies, with a focus on prostate cancer. Their goal is to develop a method of prostate cancer diagnosis that is faster, more accurate, more affordable and with fewer side effects than current methods. The company has recently received investment from the CSIRO Innovation Fund to help develop their unique technology.

Under the new partnership arrangement, Envision was selected to be WA’s sole provider of prostate MRI data due to our unmatched experience, imaging quality and technical expertise in prostate cancer detection. The prostate MRI team led by Dr Ronny Low and Dr Tonya Halliday are known for their expertise in this area. Envision uses a 3T Siemens Skyra MRI machine for more accurate prostate imaging, the only practice in Perth to do so.

1 in 7 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer over their lifetime. It is the most common form of cancer affecting Australian men after non-melanoma skin cancer. Envision and Maxwell MRI are pleased to announce this collaboration which will see them continue to be leaders in their respective fields and make a difference to men’s health outcomes.
